Well, it’s finally release day! Groggy’s mini-golf is here:

Of course it wouldn’t be launch day without something new and interesting going wrong. For some reason, Construct is not correctly loading my font files and sometimes the game’s start and instruction screens use a generic font instead of the one I imported into the game.
Everything else, however, works.
- 9 holes!
- Ball color select!
- Touch capability!
- Scoreboard!
- Juiciness and sound!
- A working mute option!
- Animation!
Who knows if the final hole reads as as windmill (mixed success on that front in testing) but I’m proud of the completely homemade graphics anyway. Learning pixel art is a long-term endeavor for me, and one I will practice more next time.
I hope you have fun playing this. What’s your low score? I was able to get down to 21, but as low as about 14 or 15 is possible.
In the coming weeks I’m going to do a post-mortem and begin to game plan for what comes next, but until then enjoy the fruit of about two dozen hours’ labor! And don’t forget to read up on how this was made:
